Training and Equipping
There is a call upon the Body of Christ for spiritual fathers and mothers to train and raise up spiritual sons and daughters who will become spiritual fathers and mothers. We desire to answer that call and to walk in the biblical model of the Ephesians 4:10 – 16 mandate.
Ephesians 4:10-16
10 And the same one who descended is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that he might fill the entire universe with himself. 11 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. 13 This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth. 15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. (NLT)
There is a cry from sons and daughters across the nations for true mentors. For those who have walked the road of the Cross before them, who will help them blaze a trail of their own with the spiritual wisdom of fathers and mothers of the faith.
The answer to this heart cry is more than training, equipping and releasing – it is also about relationship! These relationships help shape sons and daughters into the likeness of Christ. This allows the opportunity to learn from the mistakes and successes of others and to apply their experiences to our own lives and spiritual journeys.
Training and equipping is both practical – hands on – and mentoring. Open Gate Church offers training and equipping through our weekly gatherings, training & equipping meetings, workshops and conferences.
We love to share the richness and depths of the relationships that God has brought into this ministry. These are men and women we have linked arms with, who carry a ‘heart message’ that God has deposited within them. This allows for a greater diversity of what is taught and released through the corporate body.
